The one thing that I learned in class today was to be short and to the point. Using words that not many people know or can recognize easily is useless and does nothing to enhance the writing. Using simple words that cut to the chase is more useful than using big words. For example, instead of saying, "the rambunctious dog propelled himself over the barrier" you can just say, "the dog jumped over the fence" and it means the same thing but just put in simpler terms for an easy read.
